Profile

My name is Daniela Navarrete (1976), and I was born in Santiago de Chile, where I studied music at the Faculty of Arts at the Universidad de Chile. I already started travelling when I was quite young; first to the United States as an exchange student, and later on I toured Europe with a circus. That is how I finally ended up in the Netherlands.

On my travels I was privileged to experience intercultural communication and learnt to appreciate the beauty of the Spanish language. I increasingly came to realise the importance of clear, unambiguous communication. This cultural experience motivated me to complete my Bachelor of Communication (Spanish Translator & Interpreter) at the university of applied sciences ITV Hogeschool voor Tolken en Vertalen in Utrecht.

I am fully qualified and duly sworn in to translate official documents, such as birth, marriage and death certificates, single status declarations, international adoption documents, educational qualifications, academic files, excerpts from the Chamber of Commerce, notarial deeds, etc. I am also highly experienced in translating creative and journalistic documents, such as film scripts, websites, photobooks, as well as current affairs from Latin America, particularly for a Dutch-speaking audience.

In addition, I am an experienced social services interpreter and work for public institutions, such as hospitals and social services. My customers also benefit from my longstanding experience as a consecutive interpreter for the business world and cultural events. My core qualities are versatility, excellent communication skills, and a real feeling for language. I absolutely love my work, I have a positive mindset, and my main focus is on ensuring good customer relations.
